Advanced Search Using Keyclouds
See below to choose a keycloud to find related science fiction stories in Infinite Anthologies.
To Be Continued: The Australian Newspaper Fiction Database (TBC) features over 600,000 individual text files representing each chapter of a fiction story. The site lists these chapters as separate pages under their titles.
To successfully identify whether a story has a particular theme using keyclouds (in this case science fiction) it is necessary to connect all chapters under their story title in a single text file per story. As some stories were syndicated, and therefore are replicas (though some instalments may start and finish at different points), these stories have also been added within the same story text file.
At the time of copying the TBC database and creating the new data model (February 2024), there were over 51,000 stories on the main site. Concatenating these and combining copies reduced the number of stories to around 25,000. This model of 25,000 or so individual story 'txt' files is more suitable for searching with the Boolean 'AND'.
Below are several keyclouds created through trial and error that enabled the extraction of vintage science fiction stories from the unclassified TBC text database. Enter the entire keycloud in the search box above and the system will search all OCR text in the field schema:articleBody using the Boolean 'AND' and locate the vintage science fiction stories that fit the keyclouds:
